Where does the catalogue information come from?
Every title, poster, synopsis, rating, cast list and episode guide on 123Movies is supplied by TMDB (The Movie Database) through their public API. Nothing is entered by hand, which is why the catalogue stays current automatically.
Does this site host any video files?
No. No media files are stored or served here. Title pages carry the official trailer supplied by TMDB, which plays from YouTube only after you press play.
What do the HD and CAM badges mean?
They mirror how long a film has been out. Anything released within the last 45 days is marked CAM because it is still in its theatrical window; everything else is marked HD.
What is the green number on a series poster?
It is the most recently aired episode number for that series, so you can tell at a glance how far along a season is.
How does search work?
Search queries TMDB across both films and series at once. Partial titles work well, and results are ordered by relevance and popularity. Results pages are linkable, so you can bookmark or share one.
Why is a title I expected missing?
The catalogue only contains what TMDB holds. Very new, very obscure, or region-restricted titles sometimes have no record yet. TMDB is community maintained, so missing entries can be contributed there.
Why do some posters look blank?
A few TMDB records have no artwork attached. Those titles are filtered out of the grids rather than shown as empty tiles, so you may see slightly fewer than 40 results on some pages.
